How to submit a claim
Submit a claim, in five easy steps. Find out everything you need to know about submitting
a claim with Assurant Risk Consultants here.
1. Notify US
All claims must be reported to Assurant within the prescribed period stated in the policy wording
3. Notify the police
Your client must report any loss or damage to the police within
24 hours
4. Submit Documents
Once your client has completed the claim form, email it to us together with the necessary supporting documentation at and anel@assurant.co.za. Once we have received notification of the claim one of our claims specialist will be in touch to guide you through the process. Where necessary, our claims department may appoint a loss adjuster or investigator.

STANDARD DOCUMENTS NEEDED IN THE EVENT OF A CLAIM
Motor vehicle accidents
Information needed
- Fully completed claim form Quote for the loss / repairs
- A clear photocopy of your South African driver’s license,
- or a valid SADC license

Additional Information Need
- Name, contact details and ID number of other party
- Vehicle registration & vehicle make of other party
- Insurance details of the other party
- If you have taken any photos at the accident scene, please let us have these too.
- Do not negotiate directly with the other party or make any promises. Please contact us immediately if you receive any correspondence from other party
Stolen Cell phones & tablets
Information needed

Provide an ITC number from your service provider and
SAP reference number
Burglaries
Information Needed
-
Your client will need to submit an activation report from
their alarm service provider if the policy has a burglar alarm clause noted
Damaged Household
& personal Effects
Information needed

A damage report which indicates the cause of the damage will be required. Your client must not dispose any damaged items unless we have confirmed this to be in order. Please also please supply us with a quote for the loss / damaged items (two quotes)

Vehicle keys - whenever the vehicle has been stolen / written off, we will need the vehicle keys and the spare keys
